The Organisms and Us research group are pleased to announce our latest publication: How to choose your research organism. This paper takes a critical look at August Krogh's famous principle that for every research problem there exists a "convenient" organism with which to study it. Using empirical data and philosophical analysis we show that biologists employ a wide range of interacting criteria to make highly contextualised judgements about organism choice. Have a read!
