About KWP
Kaurna Warra Pintyanthi (KWP) was formed in 2002 by Kaurna Elders Dr Alitya Wallara Rigney and Dr Lewis Yerloburka O’Brien in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Rob Amery to promote the Kaurna language and provide oversight of and direction for the Kaurna language movement. Since 2004 KWP has been hosted by the University of Adelaide. Requests for Kaurna words, translations, and information were addressed at regular monthly KWP meetings up until 2014.
They now continue to be managed by KWP via the Kaurna Warra website in consultation with a panel of language experts from the Kaurna community.
KWP focuses on Kaurna language research, media, and resource production. More information and access to Kaurna language resources is available on KWP’s Kaurna Warra website which was launched in 2023.
