Music for 18 Musicians

As part of Sia Furler's internship program, two students conceived, produced, directed, animated and edited the music video is of the South Australian premiere of Music for 18 Musicians by Steve Reich, presented by Soundstream in partnership with Recitals Australia in 2020 during Royal Croquet Club's Fringe Festival program.  In writing it, Reich was successful in restoring fundamental principles of tonal harmony and pulse to music after a long period of experimentation, demonstrating that minimalism was much more than a fleeting musical trend.
