Your Career in Economics
Here at the School of Economics and Public Policy we proudly teach leaders of the future. Our alumni are employed by government agencies, banks, and international organisations such as Deloitte, KPMG and PWC.
What is Economics?
Economics is a unique discipline that allows you to understand how the world works as an intricate system. Studying Economics helps you develop integral skills such as complex problem-solving, critical and logical thinking, strong numeracy, and analytical skills.
Commonly misconceived as just a study of money or simply a mathematical subject, Associate Professor Duygu Yengin clarifies that "various specialisations of Economics including public, political, environmental, health, labour, culture, social welfare, gender and development, analyse social issues and design testable solutions and policies for major problems of our times. This includes issues such as climate change, inequality, poverty, and immigration."
Careers are therefore varied and can depend on your interests, allowing flexibility after graduation.
