ABLE Student Experience Small Grant Scheme
Do you have a great idea for an event or initiative that will benefit ABLE students?
If you had funding, what would you like to see happening in ABLE?
The Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics (ABLE) is pleased to announce a funding call for projects, events or initiatives that improve the experience of ABLE students in Semester 2, 2025.
The Student Experience Small Grant scheme aligns with the portfolio of Associate Dean, Student Experience. It is designed to support projects that improve the overall University experience for our students with an emphasis on student engagement, retention and success.
We aim to fund projects and programs that improve any aspect of student life including but not limited to: social events at discipline, program, School or Faculty level; student club activities; and projects that foster career readiness or provide professional networking opportunities. The scheme is open to both ABLE staff and students, including joint applications.
Please contact Dr. Dianne Rodger if you have any questions or need assistance completing the online form or budget.
We look forward to hearing your ideas and awarding funding!
Funding amounts and allowed expenses
Each primary applicant can be awarded funding once per year. For student clubs, only one grant can be awarded per year, even if the primary applicant is a different person.
The maximum funding amount per application is $1000. There is no minimum amount.
Allowed expenses can include: venue hire, activity and equipment hire (i.e. marquees, AV set up, photo booths, craft supplies etc.), catering (excluding alcohol), entertainment, honorariums for guest speakers, and incentives like door prizes. If you have other expenses that you would like to be considered, please email dianne.rodger@adelaide.edu.au to discuss. Where feasible, in-person events should make use of campus facilities (see University guides to hosting events on campus, and booking North Terrace facilities).
For staff, please note that proposals that involve research are best funded through other schemes. To be considered for this scheme, staff proposals involving a research component must ensure they have immediate benefits for current ABLE students, such as involving them in co-creation processes and final outputs. Marking relief and staff time are not allowed expenses.
