Congratulations to Honorary Professors Ms Carolyn Hewson AO and Ms Danielle Wood

Ms Carolyn Hewson AO, has led an extraordinary career in corporate leadership and public service. With over 40 years of experience across business, government, and the not-for-profit sector, she is a role model for future generations — especially in her longstanding advocacy for gender equity and her dedication to strategic philanthropy and governance.

She graduated with Honours in economics from the University of Adelaide in 1981, and completed her Master's degree at Cambridge.

Ms Danielle Wood, the current Chair of the Productivity Commission, has contributed to economic policy discussions in Australia for more than two decades. As the first woman to serve as President of the Economic Society of Australia and co-founder of the Women in Economics Network, she has championed opportunities for women in economics and was named by the Australian Financial Review as overall winner and winner of the government, education and not-for-profit category, in the 2024 Women in Leadership Awards.

Ms Danielle Wood graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from the University of Adelaide in 2001. She later earned a Master of Commerce in 2005 and a Master of Competition and Consumer Law in 2015, both from the University of Melbourne.

We are honoured to celebrate their achievements and the impact they continue to make in economics and beyond.
