The School of Education is hosting Abdul Chohan to deliver an open lecture on 1 July 2019, on the role of educational technologies now and into the future, entitled: The future isn’t what it used to be. Abdul Chohan is the former Principal of Essa Academy, the founder of Olive Tree Foundation School and an Apple Distinguished Educator.

This discussion focuses on assessing the quality and equity of student performance with respect to 15-year-old students in PISA 2015 from five participating Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. In addition, this study addresses the complex issues involved in making a comparison between countries in the levels of performance in Mathematics of the 15-year-old students.
