Farming Women, Distress and Drought: Intra-actions and Entanglements with Matter

Lia

On 25 November 2021, we were joined by Prof Lia Bryant who spoke about the causal connections between drought and distress among farm women.

Lia's talk centred around farm women's narratives about drought, distress and farming. In doing so, Lia sought to reimagine the home as a site of distress during drought. Lia also spoke about her experience taking part in the participatory film making project 'Boots'n'all' with a small group of farm women from Southern Australia and provided a close reading of some of the visual and auditory components of the film.
