Baroque Academy
Welcome to the Elder Conservatorium of Music for an exciting program of concerts and events presented by Adelaide Baroque, from 4 - 8 April 2022.
Adelaide Baroque are delighted to be able to present this Academy in conjunction with the Elder Conservatorium of Music. We are committed to providing a pathway for young and emerging Australian musicians to learn the specialist skills of Historical Performance. In bringing together the core of Adelaide Baroque’s musicians with some of the most celebrated Australian Baroque performers and teachers we are presenting a significant four-day intensive experience, open to secondary and tertiary students and young professionals alike.

Baroque Academy Tutors' Concert
Monday 4 April, 7:30pm The chaos, the bizarre, the humorous and the sublime, with tutors Rachael Beesley (violin), Ben Dollman (violin), Heidi von Bernewitz (viola), Robert Nairn (bass), Melissa Farrow (flute), Simon Rickard (baroque bassoon), Glenys March (harpsichord) and Thomas Marlin (cello).
Baroque Exotique
Thursday 7 April, 7:30pm Music influenced by Turkey, Spain, Poland and exotic new instrumental techniques, with works by Telemann, Boccherini, Geminiani, Carlo Farina, and J. J. Fux.
Where Ye Shall Laugh and Dance...
Friday 8 April, 7:30pm Students and Tutors come together for the culmination of the Adelaide Baroque Academy with a concert of music from Seventeenth century Italy and England.
