When: Wednesdays – 1 May to 29 June (6 x 1 hr sessions) join tutor Stephen King for String Ensemble at the Elder Conservatorium of Music.
Group 1: 1 May, 8 May, 15 May, 19 June, 26 June, 29 June
Group 2: 1 May, 8 May, 15 May, 19 June, 26 June (2 hr session on 26 June)
Venue: Bishop Hall – back of Elder Hall – North Terrace, Adelaide – see map
Time: 4.30pm–6.30pm*
* The ensembles will be split into two groups after application, according to experience. Group 1 from 4.30pm; Group 2 from 5.30pm (generally AMEB Grade 4+).
Instrument: Cello, Double Bass, Viola and Violin
Who can join?
Participants must be of school age and have 18 months – 2 years/4–6 school terms playing experience.

About Stephen King
Stephen King's impressive career spans a decade as the violist of the Australian String Quartet and nine years with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Throughout his extensive experience, he has participated in numerous performances, tours, recordings, and collaborations on a global scale. Stephen's academic accomplishments include a Doctorate in Chamber Music, with studies under esteemed quartets like the Emerson and Guarneri. He has held notable positions in renowned orchestras, including the Boston Philharmonic and the Adelaide, Melbourne, and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras. Stephen imparts his expertise by teaching viola and chamber music at the University of Adelaide, Elder Conservatorium, and regularly offering guidance at National Music Camps for AYO.
