To celebrate the launch of our new Open Music Academy (OMA) programs, the Elder Conservatorium is hosting a free OMA 2025 Program Launch and Welcome Concert to kick off the New Year. The afternoon is a unique opportunity for staff, students and audiences to get to know each other, and to introduce our Associate Director, Edith Salzmann, who will provide an overview of our new programs. We are introducing outstanding OMA students as well as our faculty, and four newly-formed OMA ensembles: the OMA Wind Ensemble under Dr Kathryn Moorhead's direction; the OMA Cello Ensemble under Thomas Marlin's direction; the OMA Brass Ensemble under John Gluyas's direction; and the OMA Chamber Music Ensemble under Edith Salzmann's direction. Faculty members Dr Elizabeth Layton, Dr Stephen King, Edith Salzmann, Stephanie Acraman, John Gluyas and Thomas Marlin will perform, introducing repertoire by Beethoven, Mozart, Johann Strauss, Vittorio Monti, André Previn, William Shield, and more.
Entry is FREE, no RSVP required. This concert will run for approximately 75–80 minutes, without interval.
