Join the Elder Conservatorium of Music's double bass staff for an incredibly intensive three-day experience, filled with warp-ups, technique classes, scale classes, studies classes, excerpts and repertoire classes, solo masterclasses, ensemble playing, and concluding with a final public concert! Aimed at senior students and young professionals looking for a boost and a chance to refocus.
Stickybeak Album Launch (Hal's Hall)

Stickybeak are a jazz-folk quintet making music on Kaurna land. Their music weaves piano-centric melodies with lush, ethereal textures evocative of the natural landscape. Stickybeak's music is composed by pianist Darcie Bills, and features Jake Dawson (guitar), Michael Marino (drums), Peter Moore (saxophone) and Tasha Stevens (double bass). This performance will be the release of Stickybeak's debut album, and also features special guest musician Thea Martin (violin).

This exciting group co-led by guitarist James Muller and bassist Lyndon Gray are about to record their second album and after a successful album-release tour earlier this year now plan to debut their new tunes to the Hal's Hall audience. Joined by alto saxophonist Tom Noonan and Sydney drummer Tim Firth, the band will present their brand-new compositions full of rhythmic and harmonic fascinations that have inspired this current crop of tunes and providing plenty of room for thrilling improvisation and group interplay.
