Louisa Vilinne Plays Kim in Miss Saigon

Bachelor of Music Theatre graduate Louisa Vilinne recently made her professional musical debut as the alternate lead Kim in Miss Saigon at the Adelaide Festival Centre (Tuesday 2–Sunday 28 January). Born in Indonesia and raised in Singapore, Louisa moved to Australia in 2019 to pursue a Bachelor of Music Theatre at the Elder Conservatorium (2022).

'Growing up in Singapore where the focus is on STEM, arts is seen as a bit of a hobby, so to think of it as a career was a pipe dream. Then my teacher George Torbay asked me to join the new University of Adelaide course and my life changed. Suddenly I am cast in a lead role with 21 songs and taking bows at the Sydney Opera House – it is a role of a lifetime and my dream come true.'
