Adelaide Youth Orchestras Relocate to Schulz Building
Founded in 2001, Adelaide Youth Orchestras (AdYO) provides young South Australians with orchestral training, life skills and education in a safe, empowering and joyful environment. After ten years at Carclew, the AdYO team (Executive Director Nic Jeffries, Orchestra Manager Jack De La Lande, Production Assistant Amber Patrick and Communications Manager Kate Sutcliffe) has relocated to the fourth floor of the Schulz Building. This sees the organisation perfectly positioned between the Elder Conservatorium and their rehearsal spaces, where more than 300 young players participate each week during school terms across six large ensembles.
Over the past 21 years, AdYO has supported more than 2,000 young people in over 4,000+ individual opportunities to engage with orchestral music and forge lifelong connections with both the arts and their fellow musicians. You can hear a super-sized combined Adelaide Youth Orchestra and Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra performing Mahler's epic Symphony No. 1 under Associate Professor Luke Dollman at the Adelaide Town Hall on Saturday 15 June.
