APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards 2024
The 2024 APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards were held at The Malthouse, Naarm, on Wednesday 14 August. Presented in conjunction with the Australian Music Centre (AMC), the awards recognise achievement in the composition, performance, education, and presentation of Australian music, covering activity across contemporary classical music, contemporary jazz, improvised music, experimental music, and sound art.
A special congratulations to The Bowerbird Collective – Elder Conservatorium alumna Dr Simone Slattery (Co-founder and Curator) and Anthony Albrecht (Co-founder and Producer) – for winning the State/Territory Luminary Award for South Australia (for regional touring, festivals, commissions and new work); and to our Adjunct Lecturer in Composition, Dr Anne Cawrse, who was a finalist in the Performance of the Year: Notated Composition category for last year's performance of Dare to Declare – Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra by soloist Claire Edwards and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
