'Dare to Declare' by Dr Anne Cawrse Performed by Claire Edwardes, the NSW Doctors Orchestra and Dr Joanna Drimatis
This weekend, on Sunday 1 June, the NSW Doctors Orchestra will perform the Dare to Declare Marimba Concerto by our Adjunct Lecturer in Composition, Dr Anne Cawrse, featuring soloist Claire Edwardes, conducted by Elder Conservatorium PhD graduate Dr Joanna Drimatis (2009 University Doctoral Medallist) in Verbruggen Hall at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as part of their 2025 charity fundraising concert, Stars and Planets. Originally commissioned by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra with the generous support of the Miriam Hyde Circle, Dare to Declare was premiered in the ASO's 2023 Season and later nominated for a 2024 APRA AMCOS Art Music Award.
