Sarah Duhig (Honours conducting student) has been engaged professionally to conduct performances of the Avatar: The Last Airbender movie with live orchestra in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Songwriter Series 2025

Song Writer Series 2025

Featuring 15 bands premiering 75 songs, the Elder Conservatorium Song Writer Series at UniBar showcases the work of Popular Music students from the Creative Practice program on Tuesdays June 17, 24 and July 1. Joined by students from 'The Sampled Source', there will be electronic music at each show from 4.00pm, with the first band taking the stage from 6.00pm. Free admission.

On Thursday 5 June, the Elder Conservatorium's Jazz Department presented a concert in the Scott Theatre to celebrate the extraordinary work and career of long-term jazz lecturer Dustan Cox, whose contributions to the jazz department over more than 30 years have influenced generations of musicians.

NSW Doctors Orchestra 'Stars and Planets' Concert

This weekend, on Sunday 1 June, the NSW Doctors Orchestra will perform the Dare to Declare Marimba Concerto by our Adjunct Lecturer in Composition, Dr Anne Cawrse, featuring soloist Claire Edwardes, conducted by Elder Conservatorium PhD graduate Dr Joanna Drimatis (2009 University Doctoral Medallist) in Verbruggen Hall at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
