Professor Anna Goldsworthy in the Coriole Music Festival 2025

From Saturday 17–Sunday 18 May, a stellar line up of musicians (including Professor Anna Goldsworthy, Director of the Elder Conservatorium) came together in the McLaren Vale for the 2025 Coriole Music Festival, curated by cellist Simon Cobcroft. In the second of three concerts, Goldsworthy joined Cobcroft for the world premiere of the Sonata for Cello and Piano by Richard Mills, as well as performing Richard Strauss's Lieder, Op. 10 (with soprano Lorina Gore); and Mendelssohn's Sechs-Leider, Op. 63 (with soprano Lorina Gore and mezzo-soprano Victoria Lambourn, pictured in the image to the right). A special thanks to Recitals Australia for generously sponsoring a number of weekend passes for some of our students.
'Cobcroft and Goldsworthy were in perfect balance, the pianist offering bracing support and anchoring the sullen beauty of the cello lines, which in the second movement leaned more closely towards Brahms. As always in this repertoire, Goldsworthy was untiringly effective and supportive throughout.'
