Adelaide Horn Days 2025

Adelaide Horn Days 2025

Over the June long weekend (Sunday 8–Monday 9 June), 64 horn players from five different states came together for two jam-packed days of activities and classes for horn and brass players of all ages and abilities.

Sessions included music-making for horn players, classes and masterclasses, retail displays and ensemble performances at the Elder Conservatorium, and an evening recital featuring international guest artist Lin Jiang (Principal Horn, Hong Kong Philharmonic) with the Stringybark Quartet (Emma Perkins, violin, Belinda Gehlert, violin, Linda Garrett, viola, and Gemma Phillips, cello), Dr Emma Gregan (horn), and Jamie Cock (piano) at Scots Church, performing works by Bach, Cherubini, Beethoven, and Melbourne-based composer Thaddeus Huang.

Organised by the Adelaide Horn Jam, the weekend also featured tutors from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra horn section, including Adrian Uren, Sarah Barrett, Philip Paine, Tim Skelly, and our Head of Brass, Dr Emma Gregan.
