Dr Emma Gregan, Edith Salzmann and Dr Elizabeth Layton Receive FABLE Learning and Teaching Grants

Three of our staff members have recently been successful in the latest round of Learning and Teaching grants from the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics (FABLE).
Edith Salzmann and Dr Elizabeth Layton received a grant to take a group of string students to give concerts in regional Victoria and Melbourne in 2026. The group will play chamber music and solo concerts, also visiting schools to build on the Elder Conservatorium's outreach program.
Head of Classical Performance Dr Elizabeth Layton received a grant to attend a string course at Indiana University, USA led by violinist Professor Mimi Zweig. As well as meeting faculty at Indiana, Liz will investigate how pedagogy courses may be designed and implemented within performance programs through the vision of a leading educator in this area.
Dr Emma Gregan will be attending the Queensland Music Education Conference from Monday 7–Wednesday 9 July 2025 to observe and participate in best practice in professional development delivery for school music teachers.
