Ben Betelli's 'Symphonic Fantasy' Performed by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra
Current Bachelor of Music Honours composition student Ben Betelli recently had his new work Symphonic Fantasy performed by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra played the piece as part of a workshop for the Elder Conservatorium conducting students in Grainger Studio on Tuesday 17 June. Under the mentorship of Associate Professor Luke Dollman and Nicholas Braithwaite, each of the four conductors (Euan Safey, Daniel Parkee, Luke Severn and Yoram Levy) took turns rehearsing Schubert's Symphony No. 5 and Ben Betelli's Symphonic Fantasy.
'It was one of the highlights of my musical journey to date hearing the ASO play my music,' Ben said. 'I had to pinch myself to believe it!'
The same night, the Elder Brass ensemble performed Ben's 'Graduation Fanfare' as part of their Fanfare concert – a big day for Ben and his music!
