COMA's 20th Birthday Bash
Join Creative Original Music Adelaide (COMA) as they celebrate 20 years of presenting the very best of creative and original music at the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Adelaide. These two special events showcase a number of ECM jazz staff, students, and alumni, so please come along and support them if you can!

Side A (Friday 4 July) features the Enne R. Project (Enne Rignanese, bass, compositions; Reginald Ashman, drums; Dave McEvoy, keys; Thomas Voss, trombone; Jackson Faulkner, trumpet; Jackie Wilde, alto sax, bass clarinet; and Lachlan McGargill, tenor sax, clarinet); the PRT Ensemble (Adam Ritchie, electronics; Derek Pascoe, tenor saxophone; and Emily Tulloch, violin); and the Marmalade Trio (Mark Simeon Ferguson, keys, compositions; Shireen Khemlani, bass; and John McDermott, drums) return in their original line-up with their trademark quirky, funky, gospel-y, Afro-Latin jazz.
'Marmalade Trio were privileged to perform in the very first COMA gig and we are so honoured to be here for the 20th anniversary! We have been fortunate to play in our many different Marmalade "formats" for COMA (Circus, trio, Orquesta, Five) and all of our band members have appeared in numerous other ensembles too. COMA has played a pivotal role in the resurgence of creative original music in Adelaide over the past two decades – being in the audience has been just as impactful as being on the stage!'
