The Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Music (CASM) along with Indigenous hip-hop group DEM MOB recently attended the 2025 Arabana Camp held at Finniss Springs on Arabana Country (Friday 11–Monday 14 July) to facilitate a music workshop incorporating intangible cultural heritage and language into a vibrant new piece written with and performed by community members that attended the camp. Organised by the Arabana Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC, the camp featured language workshops, cultural activities, music development, and was attended by around a hundred community members. This music workshop forms part of CASM's Discovery Indigenous project entitled Fine Tuning: A Reconciliation of Indigenous and Western Musical Traditions, funded by the Australian Research Council, and this trip was also supported by Carclew and their Gig Rig.
