Masterclass with Harumi Rhodes from the Takács Quartet (Musica Viva Australia)
Elder Conservatorium strings were delighted to welcome Harumi Rhodes from the world-renowned Takács Quartet to give a string quartet masterclass on Friday 22 August in the Hartley Concert Room, supported by Musica Viva Australia. The Montana Quartet (Adina Lopez, Sofia Tortorelli, Tim Tran and AJ Singh) impressed in the public masterclass, giving a sparkling performance of Korngold's String Quartet No. 2 in E-flat major, Op. 26. Due to illness the scheduled Vanya Quartet were unable to perform, but there was time for a fascinating Q&A session instead. Thank you, Harumi, for your generosity and openness in an insightful and practical session which inspired us all!
