Composer Concerts
On Tuesday 28 and Thursday 30 October in Elder Hall, thirteen new works by our undergraduate composers were showcased in two concerts. A big congratulations to composers Belle Smibert, Ben Lyons Reid, Matthew Coldrey, Heather Duthie, Joey Yau, Edmund Sikorski, Raff Raschella, Antony Abbracciavento, Hugo Johnston, Reo Gerhardy, Thomas Godwin, Leah Komad-Antic, and Charlie Wells.
The works were performed by The Windmills Quartet – Louise Trinkle (soprano), Imogen Gamble (alto), Siena Heffernan (tenor) and Max Pook-Kathriner (baritone); Ben Rawlings (violin), Lily Howlett (violin), Oliver Brown (viola), Samvel Berberyan (viola), Jasmine Baker (cello), Chiara Panetta (bassoon), Noah Miller (vibraphone / percussion), Matthew Coldrey (piano); Patrick Moorhouse (oboe), Maria Tynan (piano), Nguyen Yen Nhi Lyong (piano), Nick Miceli (violin), Nicholas Hoskyns (violin), Han Fan (violin), Tahlia Brennan (viola), Elisabeth Smith (cello), Sofia Tortorelli (violin), Adina Lopez (violin), Sterling Rieck (viola), AJ Singh (cello), Aimee Wilson (guitar), Caitlin Murray (flute), Amber Bader Hayes (clarinet), Hannah Bampton (clarinet), Emma Smith (voice), Reo Gerhardy (piano), Thom Hopgood (clarinet), Javier Goh (violin), Shannon Whitehead (violin), Chiara Kelle (cello), Olivia Marton (soprao), Caitlin Little (alto), Alisha Roberts (tenor) and Will Burton (baritone).
Thanks to our tutors Professor Charles Bodman Rae, Dr Anne Cawrse, Dr Dylan Crismani, Associate Professor Carl Crossin OAM and Dr Aaron Pelle, who have worked tirelessly with our composition students to guide the development of the works featured in these concerts. Also, a special thank you Lloyd Van't Hoff and Dr Stephen King for their enthusiasm and support for the project, the chamber music tutors for mentoring the students, and all of the performers of the chamber music class who bravely took on the premiere of thirteen new works over the two concerts. We appreciate your hard work in bringing these pieces to life.
