Lauren Henderson 'Curves of the Brave' Album Launch at Hal's Hall

Beloved SA-based singer Lauren Henderson (winner of the National Jazz Award 2020) launches her highly anticipated album Curves of the Brave at Hal's Hall. Along with Lauren's compelling vocal style you will hear the piano playing of Alex Wignall (currently living and touring in the USA), the drumming of Kyrie Anderson (in much demand in the Melbourne scene) and stepping in for Sam Anning who performed on the recording, the double bass stylings of Dr Lyndon Gray. A special evening is guaranteed – book early to avoid missing out!

Works by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Henri Desmarets, André Campra, Chiara Margarita Cozzolani and Barbara Strozzi capture a musical expression of the life and times of Julie d’Aubigny, the 17th-century French sword-fighting opera singer. Today’s concert also includes She Who Sings Strange Songs – a song cycle by our Adjunct Lecturer in Composition, Dr Anne Cawrse.
