Jazz Workshop with Sam Anning and Friends

The Jazz department were blessed with Australian jazz royalty as bassist Sam Anning brought his touring ensemble to Madley Rehearsal Studio for a wonderful workshop on the King's Birthday Holiday. The band featured alumni Kyrie Anderson on drums with Melbourne stalwarts Theo Carbo on guitar, Andrea Keller on piano, Julien Wilson on tenor saxophone, Carl Mackey on alto saxophone and Matt Jodrell on trumpet. Our students engaged with thoughtful questions and the band responded beautifully, exploring their approach to composition, practice habits, listening and generally making good music.
