Recitals Australia's 'Recitals on the Fringe' series returns to the Adelaide Fringe (Saturday 1 March–Sunday 23 March) in 2025, with thirteen classical concerts featuring the new recipients of the Recitals Australia Fellowship program – Adam Draper (trombone), Bridget McCullough (viola), Lucy Macourt (violin), Jenny Su (piano), Alex Byrne (flute) and Angus McBride (bassoon) – at the North Adelaide Baptist Church Hall.

Quartets for You - Adelaide Fringe

Quartets for You

Quartets for You is an exciting opportunity to connect with the next generation of musicians and experience the vibrant compositional community of South Australia. This event will showcase brand-new repertoire for string quartet by emerging local composers, highlighting their fresh perspectives as they discover their compositional voices. The series will feature 13 string quartets by local emerging composers Ben Betelli, Heather Duthy, Thomas Gray, Brodie King, Emma Knights, Leah Komad-Antic, Ben Lyons-Reid, Clinton Marchi, Raffael Raschella, Ty Robinson, Casey Sullivan, Charlie Wells, and Hannah Wilkinson (all of whom are either current students or recent alumni of the Elder Conservatorium), performed over three concerts by the Opal Quartet (Javier Goh, Shannon Whitehead, Sterling Rieck, and Chiara Kelle), founded during the Elder Conservatorium's 2024 String Quartet Weekend.

Definitely NOT a Hungry Game: A Parody Musical

Bachelor of Music Theatre graduate Sascha Debney-Matiszik has been cast in Dramafreak Productions' Definitely NOT a Hungry Game: A Parody Musical in the Adelaide Fringe – a new parody musical based on the series of a similar name with an 18-song original score. Described by Australian Arts Review as 'a jubilant celebration of the genre's source material', the show made its highly-successful debut as part of the 2024 Sydney Fringe Festival, receiving nominations for Best in Musical Theatre and Cabaret at the Fringe Awards.

'Getting cast was such a whirlwind of emotions,' Sascha says. 'I had never taken on the responsibility of covering multiple roles and was a bit nervous, but with such a fun and hilarious show supported by a great cast the process has been so fun. I can't wait for Adelaide to join us at the games and see who will be crowned the winner!'

Zooma Zooma – Adelaide Fringe

Zooma Zooma

Feel-good gangaster jazz, classic songs, comedy and chaos from a couple of wise guys. An all-Adelaide production, Zooma Zooma is a 60-minute salute to 1950s and 60s Las Vegas and, in particular, the songs and music of Louis Prima. A renowned bandleader, singer, songwriter, musician and genuinely funny man with hit after hit to his credit – 'Just a Gigolo', 'Buena Sera', 'Angelina', 'I've Got You Under My Skin', 'Jump Jive & Wail', 'Sing Sing Sing' and many more. Louis was also the voice of King Louie in The Jungle Book.

The Zooma Zooma Band is fronted by highly-rated Adelaide-based international jazz musician Dr Julian Ferraretto and super-swinging singer and rapid-fire funny man Anthony Leppa. With special guest Kylie Ferreira.

Born nearly 100 years ago, Antônio Carlos Jobim was one of the most prolific Brazilian jazz composers – still highly revered for his beautiful songwriting which resonates with audiences around the world. Tiffany Gaze pays tribute to the life and music of the 'Father of Bossa Nova', Jobim. Songs of Middle Earth – Adelaide Fringe

Songs of Middle-Earth

J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings trilogy has delighted readers for 70 years and the author's poetry has inspired many composers to set his words to music. Come on a magical journey with acclaimed Adelaide harpist-singer and graduate of the Elder Conservatorium Emma Horward as she presents music setting Tolkien's poetry, interspersed with dramatic reading from the books, set against visual imagery on screens at Adelaide's fabulous multi-media venue 'The Lab'. Featuring works by English composers Stephen Oliver and Donald Swan, and Australian composers Helen Cartridge, Andrew Close, Carl Crossin and Judith Clingan. Turkish Melodies – Adelaide Fringe

Jazz, Pop & Folk: Turkish Melodies

Adelaide's own Silk Strings Ensemble (Felix Wang, David Dai and Lester Wong) returns following their successful 2023 Fringe shows, featuring the original lineup: Turkish vocal virtuoso Dr Aysegul Altiok, drummer Satomi Ohnishi, pianist Yundi Yuan, and bassist Tim Matthew.

Beating Up The Beatles

Beating a new beat for lovers of The Beatles is Elder Conservatorium Open Music Academy alumna Charlee Watt, a powerhouse vocalist and recent Adelaide Critics Circle Emerging Artist Award winner. After also winning the Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Encore Award, Charlee and her own FAB4 are ready to bring back the vibes. Charlee explores the ideas of love through the lyrics of Lennon and McCartney from 'You Can't Buy Me Love' right through to 'All You Need Is Love' while channeling the jazz sass and arragements of classic Beatles songs as sung by legends of the jazz world. You and your friends are invited to enjoy this new fusion of sounds as Charlee and band 'Beat up' The Beatles with new grooves and insights into old hits and memories.
