Yundi Yuan with Hong Kong String Orchestra Artistic Director Jue Yao at Her Majesty's Theatre for 2025 Chinese Lunar New Year Concert
Elder Conservatorium Administrative Officer and current PhD candidate Yundi Yuan had a fantastic experience performing as the guest artist at the opening concert of the Hong Kong String Orchestra's Australian Debut Tour at Adelaide's Her Majesty's Theatre on Friday 31 January, in celebration of the 2025 Chinese Lunar New Year.
During the concert, Yundi joined HKSO Artistic Director Jue Yao to perform two contrasting works for violin and piano – Nocturne (1944) by Australian composer Margaret Sutherland and Joy of the Spring by Chinese composer Mao Yuan.
