Lloyd Van't Hoff, Erin James, Lauren Henderson and Dr Lyndon Gray Graduate from LEAP Program

Lloyd Van't Hoff, Erin James, Lauren Henderson and Dr Lyndon Gray graduated from the Leadership for Emerging Academics and Professionals (LEAP) program last Thursday 20 March. Thanks to this infusion of creative energy from the Elder Conservatorium, it was a dynamic and engaging graduation ceremony in the form of a talk show, directed by our very own Erin James, with an uplifting soundtrack provided by Lloyd Van't Hoff, Lauren Henderson and Dr Lyndon Gray.
Square Circles at the Sydney Opera House

On Wednesday 19 March the Sydney Opera House premiered a new commission of Square Circles for their dome cinema. Directed by William Barton and Stephen King, it's a computer-generated cinematic experience set to music written and performed by Barton and the Australian String Quartet. Square Circles shows at the Opera House each Wednesday–Saturday till Saturday 5 April.
Dylan Cooper's Band 'Raccoon City' Launches New Album

Elder Conservatorium Technical Officer Dylan Cooper's band Raccoon City released their third album, entitled Fugue, on Friday 28 March. The album was recorded by Dylan between his own studio and throughout spaces in the Con, including Elder Hall, the Schulz studios and the Schulz stairwell.

Emma Knights in Antwerp, Belgium

Elder Conservatorium composition student Emma Knights recently travelled overseas for the world-premiere performance of her orchestrations of Trois Morceaux pour Piano by Lili Boulanger, as part of the Virago Symphony Orchestra's Women in Motion concert series in the Toneelhuis in Antwerp, Belgium.
Professor Carlo Forlivesi Visit

The Elder Conservatorium recently hosted a visit by Carlo Forlivesi, a Professor of Composition at the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro, Italy – another UNESCO City of Music. In addition to contributing to classes and seminars, Professor Forlivesi presented a solo recital on the organ in the Adelaide Town Hall on Wednesday 12 March, including his own compositions and a repertoire extending from the 17th to the 21st centuries. Carlo Forlivesi's Australasian visit was presented in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute in Melbourne and the Université Côte d'Azur.
Adam Noviello Visit

On Tuesday 11 March, performer Adam Noviello (currently on stage in Hedwig and the Angy Inch) met with the first- and second-year Bachelor of Music Theatre students. Adam was interviewed by Music Theatre lecturer Joseph Simons before answering industry-related questions from the students, including navigating a career as a non-binary performer.
The Exhibits Album Launch at the Wheatsheaf Hotel

On Monday 17 March, The Exhibits launched their self-titled debut album at the Wheatsheaf Hotel, packed with an entirely new set of original tunes. Co-led by James Muller (guitar) and Dr Lyndon Gray (bass), the ensemble also features Tom Noonan on saxophone and Josh Baldwin on drums.

ILA x ARC x ASO: Vanishing Point

On Tuesday 25 March, The Light Room Studio at ILA (Immersive Light and Art) was transformed into a digital way-station for Vanishing Point – an immersive concert where orchestral music, experimental performance, and cutting-edge visuals converged to explore the tipping points shaping our world.
Adelaide Jazz Festival 2025

Now entering its third year, the Adelaide Jazz Festival (AJF) celebrates the world-renowned art form of jazz and showcases the abundance of jazz talent here in South Australia. It's Adelaide's 10th anniversary as a UNESCO City of Music this year, and the AJF marks this milestone with an extended program from Thursday 24 April–Friday 2 May, including International Jazz Day (Wednesday 30 April).
