Music Teachers' Association of South Australia Summer Professional Learning Day 2025

The Music Teachers' Association of South Australia (MTASA) recently held their annual Summer Professional Learning Day on Thursday 23 January in the Hartley Concert Room, marking their first event under the leadership of new MTASA President and Elder Conservatorium alumna Rosanne Hammer.
Elder Conservatorium Communications Manager and PhD graduate Dr Dylan Henderson gave two hour-long keynote presentations from his award-winning PhD research on Chopin; presented an all-Schumann recital featuring Kinderszenen, Op. 15 and the Sonata for Piano and Violin in A minor, Op. 105 (with PhD candidate and violinist Isabelle Watson); and gave a masterclass on Chopin, Tchaikovsky and Liszt. The program, entitled 'Unveiling the Romantic Soul: Teaching the Emotional Depth of Romantic Music' was curated by MTASA Council Member Yong Cheong Lye, and also included presentations from Wendy Heiligenberg, Bradley Eustace, Yuxin (Melody) Men and Emma Zhou.
