Seraphim Trio Europe Tour

Between Sunday 2 February–Sunday 23 February, Elder Conservatorium Director Anna Goldsworthy enjoyed a whirlwind tour of Europe with colleagues Helen Ayres and Timothy Nankervis as part of Seraphim Trio: one of Australia's most longstanding ensembles, founded at the Elder Conservatorium in 1995. Seraphim performed at the National Liberal Club in London for the Tait Foundation, and in Marylebone for the Nicholas Boas Charitable Trust, before moving on to Oxford and the Cotswolds for 'Celebrating Australian Music,' performing works by Australian composers Wendy Hiscocks, Andrea Keller, Elena Kats-Chernin, Elizabeth Younan and Calvin Bowman, alongside Haydn, Beethoven and Ravel.
Next step was Rome, for a residency at the beautiful Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia, followed by masterclasses and a recital at Conservatorio Licinio Refice in Frosinone. The final leg was a type of homecoming: returning to Hanover, where Seraphim enjoyed formative study with the late and legendary chamber music pedagogue Hatto Beyerle. After concerts in Hanover and Einbeck, Seraphim returned to Australia for recitals in Melbourne and Macedon on the weekend. It was a deeply rewarding three weeks of performance and pedagogy, with exciting new partnerships established!
