Dr Emma Gregan in Bendigo

Our Head of Brass, Dr Emma Gregan, spent a weekend in Bendigo from Saturday 14–Sunday 15 June, representing the Elder Conservatorium as part of our regional outreach program. Emma took part in the Bendigo Symphony Orchestra's Tertiary Pathways Q&A Forum on Saturday 14 June, before joining the BSO's horn section in their concert on Sunday 15 June at Ulumbarra Theatre, which featured Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D (with former Melbourne Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Dale Bartltrop as soloist) and Gustav Holst's The Planets. Following Emma's visit, the Elder Conservatorium received an extremely warm letter of appreciation from BSO President Nigel McGuckian and Artistic Director Luke Severn:
'Emma's contribution – both artistically and educationally – was exceptional. Her generosity, warmth, and depth of expertise resonated not only with our musicians but with educators, families, and emerging artists across the region. To have her perform with our horn section, while also taking time to engage so meaningfully with students and teachers, was a profound gift to our community.'
