Inarma Choir Rehearsals

Inarma Choir features women from the remote Communities of Pukatja, Mimili, Titjikala, and Alice Springs and Amoonguna. In July they convened for a workshop in Alice Springs, conducted by Dr Gabriella Smart, rehearsing in Araluen Arts Centre and on Country in Simpsons Gap. The women share close family ties and Tjukurrpa spanning 1000 kilometres across central Australia; their unique singing voice reflects their deep spirituality and strength.
Inarma Choir are preparing for a rehearsal with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in August 2025 conducted by Associate Professor Luke Dollman, towards a performance in 2026 when they will premiere their new composition. This outcome forms part of the ARC Project Fine Tuning: A Reconciliation of Indigenous and Western Musical Traditions, led by Dr Dylan Crismani.
