Australian String Quartet to Give Two World Premieres in Lunchtime Concert
Our Lunchtime Concert Series kicks off again this Friday 2 August, with our Quartet-in-Residence, the Australian String Quartet, giving two world premieres.
They will perform a new work written by 'whimsically inventive' (The Advertiser) composer, pianist, and musical director Mark Simeon Ferguson (our Head of Jazz), inspired by the very cute and very endangered Hooded Plover. Alongside this is also the World Premiere of Perfume by Elder Conservatorium composition student Thomas Gray. This program also includes favourite works from Ibert and Shostakovich.
