Acclaimed American author and musician Barry Green will give a lecture-demonstration based on his acclaimed book The Inner Game of Music on Friday 26 July, from 9.30am–1.00pm in the Hartley Concert Room.

Anne Cawrse, Claire Edwardes and the ASO Announced as a Finalist in the 2024 APRA AMOCS Art Music Awards

We are delighted that the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra has been named a finalist in the 2024 APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards for their performance of Dare to Declare: Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra by Adelaide's own Anne Cawrse.

Second Adelaide Cello Weekend a Great Success

Our second Adelaide Cello Weekend (Thursday 11–Sunday 14 July) was another great success, with 28 cellists joining us from Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Tasmania and New Zealand! The weekend culminated with two concerts in Elder Hall on Sunday 14 July.

We are immensely proud of our students, staff, alumni and friends in the Adelaide Wind Orchestra (AWO), who have recently returned home from a tremendously successful week in Gwangju, South Korea, for the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) Conference.

Euan Safey and Jessica Zuk to Conduct Adelaide Summer Orchestra

Later this month, two of our Honours conducting students will lead the Adelaide Summer Orchestra. Currently mentored by Associate Professor Luke Dollman and Nicholas Braithwaite, Euan Safey will conduct Richard Rodney Bennett's Partita for Orchestra and Jessica Zuk will conduct Louise Farrenc's Symphony No. 3 in G minor, Op. 36. Pianist Michael Ierace will also perform Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25, conducted by Nicholas Braithwaite. Please come along and support them!

Winter Warm Up (Adelaide Guitar Festival)

The Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble will feature in the Adelaide Guitar Festival's Winter Warmup concert, held in Elder Hall on Friday 19 July at 7.00pm. Alongside performances by guitar virtuoso Giuseppe Zangari and Australian flute luminary Jane Rutter, the Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble will be giving the world premiere of Movin' Right Along by Associate Professor Carl Crossin OAM.
