Alice by Heart

Hot off the heels of Jesus Christ Superstar, our Music Theatre department delivered another stunning sold-out production last week. Alice by Heart ran from Thursday 10–Sunday 13 October in Union House's Little Theatre and showcased the talents of our wonderful second year students. Ellie Esdene McMahon, Erica Jones, Matt Hawke, Melanie Cowmeadow, Sally Harrop, Jaxon Joy, Bella Thomas, Jazz Garcia, Billie-Rose Russell, Ella Simpson, Ryan Murphy, Damian Lee, Joey Haenen, Ranz Custodio, Phoebe Rodger, Mia Lupton, Bree Hall, Sophie Carmody, Lara Wilson, Amelia Chapman, Josh Rocca, Nam Hoang, Madison Schubert, Ali Clark, and Jacinda Tsakalos all gave terrific performances, winning the hearts of audiences and critics alike.

None of this would have been possible without the formidable efforts of our creative team, along with the many unsung heroes who worked countless hours behind the scenes to bring this production to life. Warmest congratulations and heartfelt thanks to Erin James (Director); Peter Johns (Music Director and Production Manager); Chris Snape (Lighting Design); Jamie Mensforth (Audio Design); George Torbay AM (Executive Producer); Jess Wolfendale (Stage Manager); Cathy Clark (Front of House Manager); the team from Mosaic Audio Visual Pty Ltd and the musicians in the band; and of course all our students who helped out in various production and marketing roles. Bravi tutti!

'... it is clear within the first few minutes that they well and truly deserve their sold-out season. The talent on this stage, combined with tight musical direction and thoughtful direction, make this a show that will stay with audiences for a long time.'

Kristin Stefanoff, Glam Adelaide

'Throughout the performance, the sense of purposeful and disciplined ensemble is palpable. Elder Conservatorium Music Theatre's Alice by Heart is all for one and one for all, and it is a truly joyous experience. Long may ECMT produce such fabulous work!'
