Edith Salzmann and Elder Conservatorium Cello Students in Christchurch and Akaroa

Cello lecturer Edith Salzmann and Elder Conservatorium students AJ Singh, Henry Say, Chiara Kelle, Eamonn Daly and Sam Strelan made the trip over to Christchurch, New Zealand for a week from Saturday 25 January–Saturday 1 February.

A large-scale cello ensemble project was at the heart of this visit, with concerts in Christchurch and Akaroa. Our cellists teamed up with New Zealand-based cellists for a program including works by Vivaldi, Piazzolla, Strauss and others. The Elder Con cellists also had the opportunity to each present a solo lunchtime recital.
