Lloyd Van't Hoff at the 2025 Bendigo Chamber Music Festival

From Wednesday 5–Sunday 9 February, our Head of Woodwinds, Lloyd Van't Hoff, performed in the Bendigo Chamber Music Festival (directed by Chris Howlett and Howard Penny) amongst an exceptional lineup of artists including Sophie Rowell (violin), Natsuko Yoshimoto (violin), Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux (violin), Brigid Coleridge (violin), Tobias Breider (viola), Justin Williams (viola), Howard Penny (cello), Chris Howlett (cello), Daniel de Borah (piano), Louisa Breen (piano), Ignas Maknickas (piano), Alexandra Flood (soprano) and the Tarilindy Quartet from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM).
Lloyd performed Heinrich Baermann's Clarinet Quintet No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 23 in the Opening Concert on Wednesday 5 February; Giocomo Meyerbeer's Clarinet Quintet in E-flat major and Schubert's Shepherd on the Rock, D. 965 on Thursday 6 February; Zdeněk Fibich's Quintet in D major, Op. 42 on Friday 7 February; Anton Eberl's Grand Sextet in E-flat major, Op. 47 and a selection of Louis Spohr's Six Deutsche Lieder, Op. 103 on Saturday 8 February; Duke Ellington's 'Clarinet Lament' (arr. David Schiff), Dave Cox's 'Frozen Pillies', Gershwin's 'Blues' from An American in Paris (arr. Michele Mangani), and a selection of Mozart arias on Sunday 9 February.
