Marietta Resek Celebrates 100th Birthday
'One of the dearest members of our Elder Con "family", Marietta Resek, is pictured below listening to a solo Schubert performance on the violin she brought with her on the Jewish Kindertransport train from Vienna to London in 1938 (her violin was played by Dr Nicholas Adams, psychiatrist and Elder Con alumnus).
Trio Karénine visit Elder Conservatorium on Monday 13 May
Students had a wonderful morning workshop with players from the internationally acclaimed French ensemble Trio Karénine on Monday 13 May. It was a great pleasure to meet Louis, Julien and Paloma and two string quartets and several pianists benefited from their energy and insight. We hope to see them again another day!

Gala concert to celebrate Elder Conservatorium community
A stellar assembly of staff and alumni from the Elder Conservatorium of Music will perform in a special Gala Concert on Wednesday 15 May, at once demonstrating the artistry and collegiality of our community, while raising funds to support our ongoing mission.

Waite 100 Gala
On Saturday 4 May, the University of Adelaide celebrated 100 years of the enduring Waite Gift in a black-tie, stand-up cocktail affair held on the Urrbrae House Croquet Lawns, featuring performances by Elder Conservatorium staff, students and alumni.
Adelaide Bass Day
We had over 60 people attending the Adelaide Bass Day (Sunday 28 April) during the day, with many more for the final concert.
Adelaide Youth Orchestras Relocate to Schulz Building
After ten years at Carclew, the Adelaide Youth Orchestras team has relocated to the fourth floor of the Schulz Building.

Kallan Francis Awarded Prestigious James Morrison Scholarship
Congratulations to second year jazz guitarist Kallan Francis, who has just been awarded the prestigious James Morrison Scholarship at last weekend's Generations in Jazz festival in Mount Gambier.

Ciara Louise Ferguson Receives COMA Emerging Jazz Writer's Award
Congratulations to BMus Hons 2021 graduate (and Adelaide Connection accompanist) Ciara Louise Ferguson, who received the COMA Emerging Jazz Writer's Award at the Adelaide Festival Centre International Jazz Day performance with the Thomas Voss Orchestra.
