New Kaurna Song Book Launched on Kaurna Day

On Monday 3 March, the Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Music (CASM) launched a new song book with the Kaurna community and Kaurna Warra Pintyanthi entitled Yurikurringa Ngadluku Paltirna: Listen to Our Songs.

Katelyn Crawford Awarded PASS & Peer Learning Award

Elder Conservatorium Administrative Officer and current PhD candidate Katelyn Crawford was recently recognised at the Australasian PASS and Peer Learning Awards, in the category of Outstanding New PASS Leader / Mentor.

Ensemble Musikfabrik Visit

We had a whirlwind start in Orientation Week with guests from the internationally acclaimed contemporary music group Ensemble Musikfabrik, who gave a sold-out performance on Friday 28 February to an enthusiastic audience as well as a series of classes and workshops with our classical students.
Professor Charles Bodman Rae to Conduct World Premiere of New Clarinet Concerto

The Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra will perform Respighi's evocative Pines of Rome (conducted by Associate Professor Luke Dollman) and the world premiere of Professor Charles Bodman Rae's Clarinet Concerto (conducted by the composer), featuring our Head of Woodwinds, Lloyd Van't Hoff, as soloist.

Lumen Magazine Publishes 'The Music Behind the Notes' by Professor Anna Goldsworthy

The University of Adelaide's latest edition of its bi-annual Lumen magazine has recently been published. It includes a piece by Professor Anna Goldsworthy (Director of the Elder Conservatorium) on how her grandfather's metronome has gently measured the tempo of her music and her life.
Liam Pilgrim Announced as 2025 Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellow

Elder Conservatorium alumnus Liam Pilgrim (violin) has been announced as one of the twelve musicians accepted into the Sydney Symphony Orchestra's 2025 Fellowship program.

Dr Anna Henwood Receives University Doctoral Medal

It was a delight for the HDR community at the Elder Conservatorium of Music to be informed on Tuesday 4 March that Dr Anna Henwood is the latest recipient of the University of Adelaide Doctoral Research Medal for her outstanding thesis, submitted early and examined late last year.
