Open Music Academy (OMA) End-of-Year Concert 2025
On Saturday 8 November, the Open Music Academy (OMA) marked the completion of the first year of its new programs with two concerts in Elder Hall. Ten students were honoured with the OMA Excellence Award and Associate Director Edith Salzmann praised the concert as 'a wonderful showcase of what our students and mentors have achieved this year.' Thank you to all the OMA teachers for their hard work in 2025! The stage is set for a bright future for the programs and its students. Enrolments are now open and filling for 2026.

Open Music Academy (OMA) Students Pallas Hannan and Kate Magner Selected for Prestigious 'Class of Cabaret' Program
Two current vocal students of the Open Music Academy (OMA) – Pallas Hannan and Kate Magner – were hand-picked to participate in the highly competitive Class of Cabaret program run by the Adelaide Festival Centre in conjunction with the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
Yuyao Wan in the Altamira Guitar Competition
Open Music Academy (OMA) student Yuyao Wan performed in the prestigious Altamira Guitar Competition, hosted by the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Yuyao was one of six finalists nationwide, and was the only high-school aged student to compete against graduates and university students.

OMA Student Spotlight – Natasha Paran
Huge congratulations to Open Music Academy (OMA) student Natasha Paran, a talented and hardworking Year 10 violinist, on an extraordinary series of achievements this month. Natasha gave a brilliant performance of Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26 with the Unley Symphony Orchestra, following her win at the Eisteddfod Concerto Competition earlier in the week with Édouard Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole, Op. 21.

Open Music Academy Mid-Year Concerts 2025
The Open Music Academy (OMA) presented a series of mid-year concerts on Saturday 14 June in the Hartley Concert Room. Held over three sessions (3.00–4.00pm, 4.15–5.00pm and 5.30–7.00pm), these performances celebrated the progress and development of our talented students across a wide range of instruments, performing at all levels from beginner to advanced.

On Saturday March 29, two masterclasses were held on campus. These are group classes held regularly on Saturday afternoons, accessible through our Academy, Discovery and Performance programs.
