Dr Anne Cawrse and Michael Ierace Release New EP
Friday 16 August saw the release of before, during, after, an EP of solo piano music composed by Dr Anne Cawrse and performed by Michael Ierace. Recorded in late 2023 in Elder Hall by Lachlan Bramble, this beautiful new release includes three works of Anne's, each composed for Michael between 2016 and 2020. The work is available on all streaming platforms, and for purchase at https://annecawrse.bandcamp.com/album/before-during-after.

APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards 2024
A special congratulations to The Bowerbird Collective – Elder Conservatorium alumna Dr Simone Slattery (Co-founder and Curator) and Anthony Albrecht (Co-founder and Producer) – for winning the State/Territory Luminary Award for South Australia (for regional touring, festivals, commissions and new work); and to our Adjunct Lecturer in Composition, Dr Anne Cawrse, who was a finalist in the Performance of the Year: Notated Composition category of the APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards 2024.
The Choral Experience – Session for All Students at A Day at the Con 2024!
Come and sing with the Elder Conservatorium Chorale at A Day at the Con 2024 on Sunday 24 August! This session is open to all high school students of any instrument and any stream (Classical, Jazz, Music Theatre and Creative Practice). Vocalists and instrumentalists are both welcome!

On Saturday 24 August 2024, the Elder Conservatorium of Music opens up its doors to the community with 'A Day at the Con'. As the home of music education in South Australia, we invite students to join us for the day, making music with our brilliant staff and students.

Barry Green to Give 'The Inner Game of Music' Lecture-Demonstration on Friday 26 July
Acclaimed American author and musician Barry Green will give a lecture-demonstration based on his acclaimed book The Inner Game of Music on Friday 26 July, from 9.30am–1.00pm in the Hartley Concert Room.
Anne Cawrse, Claire Edwardes and the ASO Announced as a Finalist in the 2024 APRA AMOCS Art Music Awards
We are delighted that the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra has been named a finalist in the 2024 APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards for their performance of Dare to Declare: Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra by Adelaide's own Anne Cawrse.
Second Adelaide Cello Weekend a Great Success
Our second Adelaide Cello Weekend (Thursday 11–Sunday 14 July) was another great success, with 28 cellists joining us from Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Tasmania and New Zealand! The weekend culminated with two concerts in Elder Hall on Sunday 14 July.

Euan Safey and Jessica Zuk to Conduct Adelaide Summer Orchestra
Later this month, two of our Honours conducting students will lead the Adelaide Summer Orchestra. Currently mentored by Associate Professor Luke Dollman and Nicholas Braithwaite, Euan Safey will conduct Richard Rodney Bennett's Partita for Orchestra and Jessica Zuk will conduct Louise Farrenc's Symphony No. 3 in G minor, Op. 36. Pianist Michael Ierace will also perform Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25, conducted by Nicholas Braithwaite. Please come along and support them!
