String Quartet Courses – August 2025
Our recent String Quartet Weekend (Saturday 9–Sunday 10 August) brought together 12 quartets – seven from the Elder Conservatorium, two pre-tertiary ensembles, two from Melbourne, and one from Auckland.
A Day at the Con! 2025
As the home of music education in South Australia, the Elder Conservatorium of Music opens its doors to the community on Saturday 30 August 2025 with A Day at the Con! 2025.
Kelsey Robinson Releases 'Don't Knock' Single
Elder Conservatorium Classical Performance alumna Kelsey Robinson (Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours, 2016) recently released her second single on Friday 18 July. Called 'Don't Knock', it's an anthem of growth, empowerment and strength through adversity.

2025 APRA AMCOS Art Music Award Nominations Announced

Rachel Bruerville Releases Debut Album 'Under the Fig Tree'
Elder Conservatorium alumna Rachel Bruerville – BMus (Hons) Composition (2013–2018) – is releasing her debut album of instrumental chamber music, entitled Under the Fig Tree – Music for serenity, strength, and joy, on Bandcamp and streaming services from Friday 25 July.

Professor Anna Goldsworthy on ABC Classic's 'Duet' Program
Professor Anna Goldsworthy, Director of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, recently joined Tamara-Anna Cislowska on ABC Classic's Duet program.

Sydney Chamber Choir Gives World Premiere of 'The Greatest of These' by Dr Anne Cawrse
On Saturday 5 July, the Sydney Chamber Choir celebrated its 50th anniversary with a Gala Concert in the City Recital Hall, Angel Place, conducted by Artistic Director Sam Allchurch. Celebrating the beauty and thrill of new music, the program featured the world premiere performances of five pieces specially commissioned by the Sydney Chamber Choir, including The Greatest of These by our Adjunct Lecturer in Composition, Dr Anne Cawrse.
Dr Simón Pazos Quintana Performs Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Burnside Symphony Orchestra
Elder Conservatorium accompanist and PhD graduate Dr Simón Pazos Quintana recently joined the Burnside Symphony Orchestra for two performances of the Piano Concerto No. 5 in F major, Op. 103 (The Egyptian) by Camille Saint-Saëns in the Burnside Ballroom on Sunday 29 June and Wednesday 2 July.
Aleksia Tours the UK and Australia
Elder Conservatorium Bachelor of Music (Popular Music) alumna Alexia Damokas (aleksiah) will head back to the UK in November as the support act for Fickle Friends, who are performing shows in Brighton, London, Birmingham, Oxford, Manchester and Glasgow from Friday 7–Thursday 13 November.
Any Young Mechanic to Perform in Paris and the UK
Tarntanya-based art-folk band Any Young Mechanic (formerly Wake in Fright) have joined the lineup of the UK's Reading Festival on Friday 22 August and Leeds Festival on Saturday 23 August, and the Rock en Seine festival in Paris on Sunday 24 August, with more European tour dates to be announced soon.
