Open Music Academy Student Concerts (June 2024)
The Open Music Academy (OMA) celebrated the culmination of the first half of the teaching year with a series of captivating concerts held across two days (Friday 28–Saturday 29 June) at Madley Rehearsal Studio.

Australian String Quartet's 'Vanguard' Tour Receives 4.5 Star Review

The Australian String Quartet's Vanguard tour culminated on Friday 5 July with a wonderful performance in Elder Hall – their last in a national tour that included concerts in Perth, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

Adelaide Cello Weekend (Thursday 11–Sunday 14 July)

Our second Adelaide Cello Weekend intensive for 2024 kicks off this Thursday 11 July, with cellists from all over the country meeting at the Conservatorium for lessons, masterclasses, cello ensemble and concerts!

Vale Ronald Woodcock

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of concert violinist Ronald Woodcock, a much-loved member of the teaching staff of the Elder Conservatorium for around 25 years, from the early 1970s to the late 1990s.
Lloyd Van't Hoff with Selby & Friends

Our Head of Woodwinds, Lloyd Van't Hoff, is currently touring the country with Kathryn Selby (piano) and Natalie Chee (violin) as part of the Selby & Friends series, performing Brahms and Bartók in Adelaide (7 July), Sydney (8 July), Melbourne (10 July), Canberra (12 July), Bowral (13 July) and Turramurra (14 July).
Jazz Workshop with Sam Anning and Friends

The Jazz department were blessed with Australian jazz royalty as bassist Sam Anning brought his touring ensemble to Madley Rehearsal Studio for a wonderful workshop on the King's Birthday Holiday.
Student Achievements in the Adelaide Eisteddfod

Third-year viola student Tim Train has won the Under 25 string solo section at the Adelaide Eisteddfod, while the recently formed OMA String Quartet took out first prize in the Chamber Music Section.
