Aleksiah Selected to Perform at the 2025 Primavera Pro Showcase in Barcelona

Elder Conservatorium Bachelor of Music (Popular Music) alumna Alexia Damokas (aleksiah) has been selected to perform at the 2025 Primavera Pro showcase in Barcelona on Friday 6 June. Primavera is a prestigious music festival and showcase conference and an excellent platform for artists looking to build exposure within the European and Spanish-speaking markets.

Jack Overall Accepted into ACO Emerging Artist Program

On Monday 3 February, the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) announced the six talented young string players who have been accepted to take part in the 2025 ACO Emerging Artists Program. We're particularly thrilled to see cellist and Elder Conservatorium alumnus Jack Overall (Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours) has been selected!

Rob Nairn and Stephen King Record New ABC Classic Album with Ironwood in Sydney

From Thursday 28 January–Sunday 2 February, faculty members Rob Nairn and Stephen King took part in a recording of Schubert's famous Trout Quintet with the group Ironwood in Verbrugghen Hall at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Elder Conservatorium Administrative Officer and current PhD candidate Yundi Yuan had a fantastic experience performing as the guest artist at the opening concert of the Hong Kong String Orchestra's Australian Debut Tour at Adelaide's Her Majesty's Theatre on Friday 31 January, in celebration of the 2025 Chinese Lunar New Year.

Dr Anne Cawrse's New Piano Quartet Art of the Determined to Receive Premiere at the Australian National Academy of Music's 'Sounds of Australia' Festival

A new Piano Quartet by Dr Anne Cawrse (our Adjunct Lecturer in Composition) will receive its premiere in the Australian National Academy of Music's chamber music festival Sounds of Australia. Entitled Art of the Determined, Cawrse's new work was commissioned by John Daley in memory of Professor David Penington AC.
